Greetings, Friends of ACETA!

Proposal Submission Information (PDF)

On behalf of the ACETA Steering Committee, I would like to invite you to submit a proposal for a presentation at the 68th annual conference of the Association of College English Teachers of Alabama (ACETA) to be held February 26 and 27, 2016 at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Inspired by the release this summer of Harper Lee’s Go Set a Watchman, this year’s conference call encourages scholars throughout the state to take a fresh look at the “origins, histories, traditions, and pedagogies” of our profession.  Further details regarding proposals are in the attached call. Please note that submissions should be mailed no later than December 4, 2015.

Please consider submitting a proposal and encourage colleagues and interested students to do so as well. Proposals for co-authored papers and complete panels of three to four presenters are welcomed in addition to proposals for individual presentations. Concurrent panel sessions will run one hour and 15 minutes, giving individual presenters 15 to 20 minutes for their presentations and 15 minutes for questions and discussion. If you could share the call on your departmental bulletin board or website, we would appreciate that as well.

The association’s newsletter, The Light, previewing the conference will be available soon, and additional information will be posted on our website, https://alcollegeenglish.org/.

We look forward to seeing you at the conference!

Anissa M. Graham
ACETA Executive Secretary
